About Being Vegan

What's up, homies!?  I'm Kelsey.  The weird vegan behind this whole thing.

I want you to know the truth about me.  I'm a travel-obsessed, sensitive, passionate, enthusiastic (some call me loud), life-loving human being. And, most importantly, I’m a recovering cheese platter addict and former medium-rare steak orderer.

No, I didn’t want to go vegan when I did. That’s the truth.

I was afraid everything would be different and that my life would somehow become more…bland.

I hated making a fuss when ordering at restaurants, especially as a former server, so going vegan just sounded like an instant pain-in-the-ass identity.

However, the moment I chose to go vegan, the second that I started learning more…I re-started my life.  I know, I know…I sound like a commercial right now.

But it’s the truth.

My life has improved a hundred-fold since I gave up all animal products. Yeah, it took some getting used to, but I would never, ever, EVER go back.

I feel more empowered using the “v word” than ever before.

I feel like I’m actually doing something with my life that means more than any thing else I’ve ever done.

So, if you’re reading this thinking I’m some hippie chick who hugs trees…you’re half right…but I’m honestly just like you.

One day, I just decided to look at the facts.

And those facts, the truth, became my purpose.  I want to share this ridiculously great lifestyle with you that made me so much more whole.

Yeah, it was scary at first, but it was all worth it.

Since I adopted a vegan lifestyle, I have never had a healthier relationship with my body, with food, with animals, and with the world.

I mean, have you ever struggled with body image, disordered eating, your weight, your health, or how you view food?

Cause I reaaaally have. Haven’t most women?

With all my heart, I believe considering veganism may be the answer to some, if not most, of your internal and external struggles; it has been for me and I want you so badly to experience that, too.  This is deeper than any fad diet.

This is choosing compassion for yourself, compassion for the animals, and compassion for the planet.

Be scared, but do something about it.

I’m with you the whole way. I promise.
