Morning Glow Orange Smoothie

I recently wrote an article called What I Eat in a Day as a Vegan where I talked about an average day of meals as a vegan. In it, I discussed how my very thoughtful boyfriend, Nick, makes us a smoothie every morning without fail.

I have to be honest, I probably wouldn’t make myself smoothies as often as he does, so I’m grateful it’s part of his routine, because smoothies are usually jammmm-packed with goodness.

One of our favorites, is the classic orange smoothie.

We’ve named it the Morning Glow Orange Smoothie because it honestly makes you feel good from the inside out — like you’re glowing.

This recipe is incredibly nutritious, so it does wonders for your immune system and it can help fight disease due to its nutrient dense contents.

This smoothie is high in:

  • Vitamin C

  • Vitamin A

  • Vitamin B1

  • Potassium

  • Folate

  • Calcium

  • Dietary Fiber

It’s also a great anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce swelling, cholesterol (for non-vegans), and blood pressure.

The vanilla, vegan protein powder that we use not only supplies us with a great source of protein, but it also adds an amazing flavor to the combination. I can’t recommend this protein powder enough!

The smoothie is sweet, yet tangy and has an easy smoothness to it with the amount of water we add, which I like since I’m not a fan of chunky drinks at all.

You can easily blend this up, pour it in a reusable bottle, and take it to work or school with you. It’s really easy to prep, so it’s pretty low-maintenance when it comes to getting it all ready. The blades of your blender should do most of the work for you so you can just enjoy the benefits of being a healthy human!

Ever since we started drinking smoothies regularly, I’ve noticed how balanced my energy levels are and how great my digestion has been.

If you’re not a regular fruit eater, then I’d recommend trying out a smoothie regimen to get the vitamins and nutrients you need in one shot.

The best thing about smoothies is that they pack all the action in one glass so you can just chug it and move on with your day knowing you’ve gotten the daily dose of goodness.
